New Neighbor near Harness Factory

Harness Factory Lofts is gaining a new neighbor in 2019! We are excited to be welcoming a new Hyatt hotel to Indianapolis. The hotel will face Banker’s Life Fieldhouse on the corner of Georgia and Pennsylvania Streets. The 15-story, 316-room hotel is expected to open in spring or early summer 2019, just in time for the NBA All-Star and National Football Championship games.

More than half the rooms will be traditional hotel rooms, which includes free Wi-Fi and breakfast. The rest of the rooms will have “residentially inspired studios,” which includes kitchen suites and den areas, similar to extended stay accommodations. The project’s estimated to cost $81.4 million.

Other amenities include first floor retail space, a rooftop pool and fitness center, an indoor/outdoor bar, with hopes the space will house a “premier restaurant anchor,” and more. There will also be more than 6,000 square feet of event and retail space with a parking garage for guest and public use.

The new hotel will bring more visitors to Indianapolis and pull in an economic boost for the city, especially during the NBA All-Star game in 2021, NCAA Final Four in 2021, and the National Football Championship game in 2022. More retailers within walking distance of the Harness Factory will also be beneficial for our residents, especially if it includes a grocery store, coffee house, or pharmacy.

The Pub, Hotbox Pizza, and Courtside Convenience store, all located on the first floor of Harness Factory, will remain open during normal business hours throughout the hotel’s construction. You’ll still be able to grab your late-night pizza, beer before the Pacer’s game, and any last-minute items from our first-floor friends!

Currently, Pennsylvania Street is limited to one lane while Georgia Street is open in front of the project. Chesapeaka Street is closed with it’s status after construction unclear. The parking garage to Harness Factory is currently blocked but will regain access after construction for resident parking, which will have an entrance through the parking garage of the hotel.
